Combining reflexology and Indian head / face massage ((shiro / mukha abhyanga) creates a comprehensive and deeply relaxing treatment that addresses both the feet and the upper body. This wonderful integrated approach allows for a more holistic experience, promoting relaxation, balance, and overall well-being.

During the treatment I start with duopody reflexology (both feet together), where pressure is applied to specific reflex points on the feet. This targeted pressure stimulates corresponding organs, systems, and areas of the body, promoting balance and supporting the body’s natural healing processes. It can help alleviate stress, improve circulation, enhance energy flow, and bring about a deep sense of relaxation.

The treatment concludes with the Indian head / face massage, focusing on the face, scalp, neck, shoulders, and upper back. This helps release tension, improve blood circulation, and promote relaxation in these areas. The rhythmic movements and acupressure techniques can help relieve headaches, reduce muscle stiffness, and create a sense of tranquillity.

Combining reflexology and Indian head massage in a single treatment offers a harmonious experience that addresses both the upper body and the feet. It allows for a comprehensive approach to relaxation and well-being, targeting different areas of the body that are often prone to tension and stress. The synergy between these two practices can create a profound sense of relaxation, rejuvenation, and balance throughout the entire body.

Reflexology

  • 60 minutes | £45
Reflexology is a holistic, healing, non-invasive practice that focuses on stimulating specific areas of the feet, hands, face and ears to promote overall well-being. Rooted in ancient traditions, reflexology is based on the belief that various reflex points in these areas correspond to different organs, systems, and parts of the body. By applying targeted pressure and techniques to these reflex points, the aim to alleviate tension, restore balance, and enhance the body’s natural healing abilities. I specialise in foot reflexology and use the Duopody holistic method, which treats both feet together.

During your reflexology session, I will ensure you’re in a comfortable position on my electric treatment couch and will use my hands, fingers, and thumbs to apply pressure to specific points. This pressure stimulates nerve endings, improves blood circulation, and encourages the release of tension and blocked energy within the body. It is deeply relaxing.

The benefits of reflexology, however, extend beyond relaxation. Regular sessions may help to relieve stress, reduce anxiety, improve sleep quality, enhance circulation, and promote a sense of overall well-being. Reflexology is also known to support the body’s natural detoxification process, boost the immune system, and aid in pain management.

Many individuals seek reflexology to address specific conditions such as headaches, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances and musculoskeletal discomfort. However, reflexology is suitable for individuals of all ages and can be enjoyed as a preventive measure to maintain optimal health and vitality.

It is important to note that reflexology does not diagnose or treat specific medical conditions, and it is not a substitute for professional medical care. It is best to consult with a qualified level 5 reflexologist or healthcare provider to discuss your individual needs and determine if reflexology is a suitable option for you.

Palliative care reflexology is a specialised approach to reflexology that focuses on giving comfort, pain relief, and emotional support to individuals who are receiving palliative care. It is a gentle and supportive therapy that aims to improve the quality of life for those with life-limiting illnesses.

Palliative care reflexology seeks to promote deep relaxation and comfort for individuals facing serious illness. The gentle touch and techniques used in reflexology can help alleviate stress, anxiety, and physical discomfort, providing a soothing experience. It may assist in managing pain and reducing its intensity. Specific reflex points on the feet, hands, or ears are stimulated to potentially stimulate the release of endorphins and encourage the body's natural pain-relieving response.

Reflexology recognises the emotional and psychological aspects of serious illness. The therapy can offer emotional support, promote a sense of calm, and provide a safe space for individuals to express their feelings and concerns. By focusing on relaxation and overall well-being, palliative care reflexology aims to improve the overall quality of life for individuals in palliative care. It may help promote better sleep, reduce fatigue, and enhance feelings of comfort and peace.

Each individual's needs and preferences are taken into account in palliative care reflexology. I adapt techniques and pressure based on your comfort level, physical condition, and treatment goals.

It's crucial to remember that palliative care reflexology does not aim to cure or replace medical treatments. Instead, it serves as a complementary therapy that focuses on providing comfort, relaxation, and emotional support to individuals navigating serious illnesses and their associated challenges.

Ayurveda

  • Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It is often referred to as the “science of life” or the “knowledge of life… Ayu meaning life, veda meaning knowledge. Ayurveda originates in India and is considered to be the oldest recorded system of healing, dating back approx. 5000 years. Ayurveda views health as a balance between the body, mind, and spirit, and seeks to promote harmony and well-being through a personalized approach.

The foundation of Ayurveda lies in the belief that each individual is unique and possesses a distinct combination of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. These characteristics are determined by three fundamental energies, or doshas, known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The doshas are responsible for governing various bodily functions and maintaining overall health.

An Ayurvedic approach involves identifying an individual’s dosha constitution and any imbalances that may be present. This is typically done in consultation with an Ayurvedic therapist, who evaluates a person’s lifestyle, diet, emotional state, and physical attributes. Based on this assessment, a personalized treatment plan can be developed to restore balance and promote well-being.

Ayurvedic treatments encompass a wide range of modalities, including herbal remedies, dietary adjustments, lifestyle recommendations, massage therapies, yoga, meditation, and detoxification practices. The aim is to cleanse the body of toxins, enhance digestion, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural healing abilities.

Ayurveda is not only concerned with treating ailments but also emphasises preventive care. By adopting an Ayurvedic lifestyle, individuals can maintain balance, prevent illness, and promote longevity. This may involve adhering to specific dietary guidelines, practicing daily self-care rituals, and cultivating a mindful and balanced approach to life.

In recent years, Ayurveda has gained popularity worldwide as people seek alternative and holistic approaches to health. While Ayurveda offers valuable insights and time-tested practices, it is important to note that it is not a substitute for medical care. It is advisable to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare professional before making any significant changes to your health routine or addressing specific health concerns.

Sound healing bowl therapy is a holistic practice that uses the vibrations and tones produced by singing bowls to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and restore balance to the mind, body, and spirit. I use tradition bowls I bought whilst in India, they are made of 7 metal alloys. When struck the mallet the bowls produce resonant sounds and vibrations.

Sound healing bowl therapy has ancient roots and is associated with various cultures, including Tibetan, Nepalese, and other indigenous traditions. It is believed that the sounds and vibrations emitted by the singing bowls can harmonize and restore the natural frequencies of the body, mind, energy centres / chakras and clear any energy blockages, restoring the flow of energy.

The benefits of sound bowl therapy includes stress reduction, improved sleep, enhanced mood, increased self-awareness, and relief from physical discomfort.

The sound bowls can be a therapy on its own but I often use the bowls to enhance other treatments.

“I now prioritise my health by having regular reflexology with Becky which has resulted in a better sleep pattern and has had a huge effect on my day to day life.”
